Peaceful Spaces Workshop: Balance Your Home with Color and Feng Shui Taught by Interior Designer Nan Krueger
This will be a donation-based event benefiting Fresh Start Furniture Bank. Fresh Start Furniture Bank collects donations of furniture and home goods from the public and distributes them to people in need.
Now more than ever, we all need a peaceful place to unwind and relax. We’ve got to power down for a while to show up ready for the next day. For most of us, home is the place where this can happen.
As an interior designer, I know the importance of living in a home that supports us emotionally and physically. I believe that when our environment aligns with who we are, we feel happier and more empowered.
Everything we look at every day–colors, furniture, flooring, lighting–has a direct impact on our well-being. But quite often, our living spaces become cluttered, and that creates stress. Or we’re tired of seeing the same old decor, which has much more of a negative impact on mood than we might realize.
If that sounds all too familiar to you, come to my Peaceful Spaces Workshop. I’ll share simple and affordable ideas for using color to begin transforming the mood of your space into a nurturing environment that can bring more peace into your life.

Nan is an interior designer, solopreneur, mom, and a wicked awesome color and pattern mixologist.
When she started Groovyhome, it really bothered her that interior designers were available only to people with high-budget projects. One of her goals was to offer an alternative to that traditional approach.
As she learned more and more about the business side of design, she came to appreciate why a full-service design firm costs so much and why their way of working is so valuable to their clients.
But she still kept wondering, “What if I could find a way to help people who could never be those clients?” Nan wanted to offer an alternative that would help them.
She did a lot of research on how different designers work and finally found an approach that turns the design process into a partnership. Many hands make light work, and that means a lower design fee as well.
Now she can serve more people because each project is completed with the client as a team. When clients do some of the steps, it allows Nan to do what she does best—designing fabulous rooms that celebrate the ‘good bones’ of a space while avoiding the landfill waste that comes with renovation and construction.
Nan grew up in a well-designed home that was her sanctuary, so that’s why she’s passionate about designing a cheerful sanctuary for every client.
Currently, she loves writing and teaching about interior design and working with clients who value home, family and collaboration.
She earned two bachelors’ degrees in art history and interior design, taught design courses for two community education programs, and worked for several designers before opening her studio.
